In my makeup kit…
I’ve been keen to try* Make Up For Ever’s HD Elixer product for a little while now. The promise of hydrating the skin 530% seemed like an outrageous claim but one I wanted to check out!
The verdict: I was pleasantly surprised – and it takes a lot to do that these days! While I can’t vouch for the 530% claim, there was a noticeable improvement in my eye area (the area that needed hydration the most). The fine lines didn’t disappear (hydrating can’t do that!), but they were a lot less visible. I’ve used it both on its own and with concealer on top. Without a doubt it helped create a smooth canvas which made my concealer glide on more easily and appear more natural.
While it’s a staple in my kit now, it’s not in my daily skincare/makeup routine. I don’t want my skin to get too used to it! I’ll save it for those special pick-me-up occasions just like I do the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.
* I picked up a sample from PM studio. It’s important to do this as we all react differently to skincare and makeup (but you already knew that anyway!).
